Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain

Funnily enough, it hasn't rained here for a while. That's quote from somewhere. It's one of my favourite but I don't know the source. I think I'm going to do quotes for every title now. Just for the sake of it.

Aaaaand I meant to do this last week:
Yeah. And that's my History book in the background. I was in town with a friend, and we brought a packet of Percy Pigs from M&S. If you watch Charlieissocoollike's channel. It it doesn't really mean anything, like it's totally random, apart from that I brought some sweets ages ago. The packet smells really strong. Like it's starting to make my whole drawer smell of sweets. And talking of sweet smells, do you ever notice that sweets have a really distinct smell? Especially Haribo. Smell the inside of a packet next time you get some :D

Nothing big has happened this week. It's the second last week before half term. Woo hoo. I sure am looking forward to two weeks of no school. But it does mean I have so many tests/assessments next week: Two German tests, Latin test, English essay, RS essay, Geography presentation, Chemistry test. Sucks.

Nothing really happened to me this week. Oh! I'm going to see The Boy In Striped Pyjamas some time soon. Has anyone else seen/read it? I seem to be getting positive feedback for both film and book so far.

Because blogs are meant to say what happened, I'll tell a story from today. If it's boring, don't blame me.

Basically, after lacrosse, we were all getting changed. And then my friend Meazy (that's her name, short for Marina) had a really bad asthma attack. Now I don't know whether any of you have ever seen one, but it really is terrifying. But yea, we kind of decided we probably wanted to go get some help. So basically, no one really had shoes on to go run and get Sister Court (the school nurse). But my friend and I like sprinted across a giant field, with no shoes, to the nurse's room. But she wasn't in there. Seriously. What is the point of having a nurse when she's never there to help? So we were running around to check the canteen (this was twenty minutes into lunch), and then she [Court] slowly walks around the corner.

Slowly. Like really slowly.

And because we're out of breath, all we manage to say is "Meazychangingroomsasthma." And then Sister Court, says slowly "Okay, dears. Thank you for telling me. Tell her I'll be there soon." That is what we got for sprinting as fast as we could in mud. So we sprint back, and tell Meazy "Sistercourtwalkinginhaler." When Sister Court appears, like FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER NOT EXAGGERATING, we're all basically just sitting there watching our friend gasp for air.

I know it sounds lame and all, but there you go. There's my story for the day. I should say she was okay in the end, forty five minutes later. We didn't get lunch, but I don't think any of us mattered. I think that's the thing about things like this. It really draws people together, even the new kid. In my opinion, anyway. Maybe I'm mad. But yeah. She was just really tired and "wobbly" for the rest of the day.

Challenges

Palin/Biden: I'm not following it. I guess it's sort of asking you about the pressure on Brown. But not really because the President of the States makes such a big influence on the whole world. And no one really cares about Brown anyway.

Gay Marriage: Sure why not.

Nail Polish Colour: I don't actually wear nail polish, partly due to school uniform rules (go nerds). I also bite my nails anyway. But my colour would just be glow-in-the-dark. But like in colours.

Green School?: We have an eco club. We recycle paper and try to keep light switches off. I think we're trying to be one of 200 eco all girl schools or something. Wednesday was Girls Go Green day, I think.

Bands: Have we not had this question before? Um, let's see. Oh! Chelsea took Architecture in Helsinki, which is the band I usually suggest xD So instead, I'll suggest various songs from adverts that I like. Because I'm lame like that, y'know:

Neopolitan Dreams by Lisa Mitchell
The Chorus by Donora (this wasn't on an advert. It was on a Postsecret video)
1234 by Feist (ages ago on the iPod ad.)
You, Me and Bourgeoisie by The Submarines (another iPod ad because it's awesome.)
And the current iPod ad. I don't know who it's by but it's the "I tried to do handstands for you" song. The person I sit next to in my English class keeps singing it.

I feel like I keep cheating the questions. Like they're not really bands, they're just random songs. Oh! And also, "When I'm Sixty-Four" (Beatles) is also such a sweet song. I randomly heard it today. And I randomly put it in this blog. I guess the last "new" thing I added to my iPod was a bunch of Nocturnes (Chopin in particular, I think). I think it's weird when people say "I don't like classical music." It's like saying "I don't like pop music." It's such a wide spectrum I think it'd be hard to not find something. However, another rant for another time.

Gym Excuses: Damn, I thought of a really good one a couple of weeks ago. Everyone used to forget their mouthguard in hockey so they didn't have to play. But I never really "bunk" PE because I don't like doing cover work (PE theory, basically). :D I'm going to come back to this eventually when I remember it. Sorry :(

And I'm not going to do a challenge this week because I'm too sleepy, haha. But, if you do happen to have a packet of sweets (Sweets, not chocolate), do smell the inside and tell me if you agree with my theory thats sweets do have a weird smell.

Have a good weekend. I am busheddd.

P.S. I'm really tired so I don't know if this blog makes sense. Sorry if it doesn't!

Whew.

I'm alive, I promise.

Well, sort of.

I just got out of my British Lit midterm, and I'm definitely skipping my Speech class today, and I just realized it was Thursday and that I totally one hundred percent didn't even remember to think about posting last week and I feel terrible.

In my defense, last thursday was opening night, one of my best friends from home was here, and I had tons of philosophy reading to do so I wouldn't fail the quiz on Friday. Not to mention I was exhausted from 4 dress rehearsals and a performance 5 days in a row. So yeah. Please forgive me.

Tonight is the last night of Company, and while I've had SO much fun doing it, I'm pretty glad its almost over. I've got next Monday and Tuesday off for Fall Break, so I'm going back to my parents' for a few days to...well...sleep. And then as soon as I come back I start rehearsals for the next show we're doing! Woohoo! Such is the life of theatre.

I'm actually REALLY excited about this next show, though. Its called Eclipsed, its an Irish play about where they imprisoned women who had kids out of wedlock in laundries to work for the rest of their lives. Its pretty intense. I'm playing this girl Mandy who is rather mentally unstable and has delusioned herself into thinking that Elvis is in love with her [since this takes place in the late 60s, I think.] So yeah. It should be interesting, especially since I have to learn how to do an Irish accent. Yikes.

Okay...moving on to...questions!

Palin/Biden: Well. First of all I despise Sarah Palin with my entire being. I think she's an absolute idiot, to make a long story short. My hands are just too tired from essay-writing to type out my whole rant on her. As for Biden, I'm not impressed, of course, but at least I can tolerate him.

Gay Marriage: I am absolutely for. There's no reason gay couples shouldn't be allowed the same marriage rights as every other couple. Civil unions do not give all the same legal rights as marriage, and its just ridiculous.

Nail Polish Color: I totally think there should be a line of Clue inspired nail polish. Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mr. Green...you know it would be brilliant.

Obscure-ish bands: [whips out Paste cds] The Republic Tigers, Spoon[although they're not that obscure anymore], Architecture in Helsinki, Band Marino, Emerson Hart, Johnossi, Nick Cave, Okkervil River, Rob Dougan, Sigur Ros, The Black Keys, Madeline Peyroux. Hopefully there's at least one thing in there you can all find that you like. :) I live for introducing people to new music.

Okay, well, I'm sorry I'm terribly busy all the time. I'm trying to keep up as much as possible, and I love you all.

And now its naptime.

I'm by your side

By tokio hotel. Because it's playing on my stupid myspace profile that isn't aligned right. -_- grr.
Okay. So. Last week was HECTIC. All that homecoming nonsense. I knew I shouldn't've gotten involved with it at all. Not that I didn't have fun. It's just such a hassle.

<-- my dress/ my buddy Alex who accompanied me. We had fun. Even though the music was absolutely horrible.

Okay. So something wierd happened to me last week and I feel like sharing. If I posted this already, I'm sorry. I don't think I did. I was sitting at my lunch table in the morning waiting for my first class when this lady wearing a shower cap walks up. She's got polka dots painted on her face. She looks at me and goes "Have you seen my dog? It looks just like me!" By then my face looks like O_o "No?" "Well if you see him, let me know." and she walks off. Wierd. So wierd.

Questions
1. What do you think of Palin/Biden?
Palin... ugh... I hate her. I really hate that the republican party chose her too. Because everyone knows it's for the women who wanted to vote for a woman and that's sooo sexist. I would love a lady in office, but not this one. She avoids all her questions. Not my favorite. At all.

2. What is your opinion on the gay marriage issue?
I have a girlfriend. Her name is Piph. <3 I am definitely for.

3. Is your school or home doing anything to become more green?
We recycle paper? But we've been doing that for years I think.

4. Come up with a nail polish color, describe it, name it
It would be black with rainbow sparkles and I would name it the flamboyant batman.

5. Suggest a decent band that you think the rest of us might not have heard of.
Rooney. Truly awesome band. They've been around for a while, but they're not that big here.

Blueside. Good song.

Gym excuses
I said I just got back from the dentist and I was still on laughing gas. It wasn't safe for me to play kickball under such conditions. XD

Well, I love you girlies. And that's all I can think of for you tonight. So have a good rest of the week, and a lovely weekend!

i almost forgot my day!

Today is awesome because for the first time this year my history teacher didn't give us homework! And some of you might think this is no big deal, but he is harsh! The home work he gives us is like read 25 pages and then answer these 10 questions with long paragraphs and stuff =[ We also have to read the new york times everyday and we get quized on that so it was relaxing not having any homework =]

Questions
1. What do you think of Palin/Biden?
Palin: So not qualified. Doesn't know enough, not professional!
Biden: Ugh...I don't get HOW he's a democrat but he's such a back pick for Obama.
2. What is your opinion on the gay marriage issue?
It shouldn't matter what sex you are, love is love.
3. Is your school or home doing anything to become more green?
Uh no. We have a recycling club but that's about it.
4. Come up with a nail polish color, describe it, name it... lol
Can't think of one sorry!
5. Suggest a decent band that you think the rest of us might not have heard of.
Hmm...PushPlay is good I guess. Check 'em out on myspace.

My question is, well tomorrow I'm trying to think of a way to get out of PE cause I have it first thing and I'm just not really in the mood. So what was the most outrageous/funniest/weirdest/crappiest excuse you ever used to get out of PE and if you haven't...well why do you want to do PE?!

x
Sorry for the shortness!

ugly betty say whatttt?

Hello my lovely fellow bloggers! This week has been a bit...ehmm hectic eh? We missed a few days but it's all good. :]

This week was chaotic, with school and work and homework and it being junior senior wars AND homecoming week, I barely got any sleep. So my dad let me stay home Friday [it was a half day so I don't feel too bad] and I slept for thirteen hours. <3

Later that night I had work...at which I worked with mainly boys and had a pretty splendid time exchanging numbers and texting each other from across the lobby. :D

Saturday was our anti-homecoming...we had a fancy dinner which was splendid, then we were going to go to a haunted house but it turned into one of those things where the person driving in front of you who is supposed to be leading has no idea where they're going....so after about the fourth U-turn I called the person in the leading car and told them to pull into the DQ parking lot. At this point we were basically in the middle of nowhere/ghettotown and had no idea where we were...but as we were trying to get directions from the people in the first car [who decided to go ahead and go to the haunted house] they just sped off?

Basically it was a little more drama and freakout-age than necessary, but eventually we found our way to my house and talked and watched Mean Girls. It's all good now.

So let's talk about television! My current TV show schedule is as follows:
Monday - The Big Bang Theory, Chuck, and Gossip Girl
Tuesday - House
Wednesday - Project Runway [OMG ITS ALMOST TO FASHION WEEK AHHH]
Thursday - The Office

And I'm currently catching up on the last season of Ugly Betty, which I am totally in love with. I gotta say if her clothes were a tad more tailored and maybe showed a teeny bit more skin I would totally wear everything she wears! :D

Today is awesome because I'm closing with one of my favorite work friends tonight.
Today I feel a little groggy but overall pretty good.

I forgot the questions last week so:
1. No I didn't watch the debate...I had to work. :/
2. I think anything posted on a blog is a blog. lol
3. Bengi I found it at one of those beauty supply stores...they had like sunshine-y yellow [the one I got] and like a golden yellow.

I have a couple questions as well:
1. What do you think of Palin/Biden?
2. What is your opinion on the gay marriage issue?
3. Is your school or home doing anything to become more green?
4. Come up with a nail polish color, describe it, name it... lol
5. Suggest a decent band that you think the rest of us might not have heard of.

YAYY LOVEZ YOUUU
