And this is a brief warning, I think this will be a long entry, because I don't have anything to do for once :D
I'm not really in the mood for typing, partly because I'm having trouble typing today, apparently. And spelling. I apparently can't spell "Alexandria." The proof is one whole line of crossed out variations in my Latin book.
Oh! And I keep meaning to do this. I've read a bunch of books (alliteration, must be true) recently including The Book Thief (Marcus Zuzak I think). Has anyone else read it? Because basically, it says on the front "International bestseller", but I don't think I know anyone who has read it. I'm reading "Bridge to Terabithia" because I cried in the film (Because that's the wuss I am, but I didn't see it in the cinema, I saw it on DVD) and I heard lots of people say the book is better. And if you've read B-to-T, is it good? I've only read like the first two pages.
Oh my gosh, and HAPPY HALF TERM! Or mid-term? Not sure what you call it, but mine starts today! My day was actually pretty good anyway. But yeah. If you start next Friday (like a week today) then have a good week :)
Okay. So today was good...
Because I scored a goal in lacrosse! That made me uber happy because people play at like national levels and I managed to score one of the three goals. Haha. You're probably all like "Dude, I score goals in netball/someothergame all the time," but I suck at P.E.. Even that is an understatement. And I hate netball, which we have to do next term :( Speaking of P.E., I discovered that rugby is like the most violent sport ever. But I'm putting it down next year anyway, heh.
And because today was mufti day. You guys don't have mufti days, or at least I don't think so. But it is the best way to raise money for charity, because no one's gonna say no. Especially when your uniform is a mess of grey.
And because we had a cover teacher in History. My History teacher, Mr Christmas (no joke, I swear) 'speaks' so loud I think I'm going to be deaf by next year.
And because we finished Jane Eyre today. HURRAH. We did an essay on it to finish off. We're now onto Macbeth, which I know NOTHING about apart from the boil/trouble/double poem thing the Witches chant. I don't know how I know that.
And because we saw (part) of Juno in RS. I love that film. If you haven't seen it, GO SEE IT *Thumbs up*
And because I fell into a hole in the ground and laughed for five minutes straight.
And I'm happy...
Because I'm looking forward to Halloween. I'm taking in ideas what to dress up as, or like as a theme with three other people. We did The Potter Puppet Pals last year, song included.
Because I'm looking forward to see 'The Boy In Striped Pyjamas' on Sunday, which also means I get to see my old school friends. I miss them to much, but I'm also liking my new school. If you've seen it, tell me if it's good. It's meant to be really sad, as well.
And because eventhough we had LOTS of tests this week (trampolining, German listening, German writing, French oral, mock Maths, Chemistry, French vocab, Latin vocab, Latin grammar), I really couldn't care less about my marks. Haha, yes, you can tell what kind of a student I am!
And because I know that I've survived being new for one half term, an eighth of the year, and knowing that I won't die for the rest.
And because I saw the Season Finale of Ugly Betty yesterday. And that Heroes is awesome and scary but thrilling and amazing all at the same time. A bit like school.
And I always mean to post/reply to comments, but I so often forget, so here they are.
Chelsea - Architecture in Helsinki *are* fabulous. I also love the phrase "music rut." And I don't mind your late posts, because you're being happy instead :)
Lysky - I really like your print. Wowww. (Haha, that's how much it stuns me). Oh, and your reply to my post last week actually made me laugh. No offence or anything. It's the sort of thing I'd imagine stand up to be about, haha.
Melissa - Your post made me smile. Actually, a lot of posts do, but I just definitely remember smiling at yours.
Bengi - Aw, yay. You must have raised so much money. Yeah, your post also made me smile. John Green is awesome *Thumbs up. Again*
Tyler - Oh, I hope you're better. We should make a cult full of people who hate P.E.. And yay, someone agrees with my candy theory! And go Ugly Betty! And I love the book Where The Wild Things Are. And I also love soft socks. I only read your edit today. My thoughts go out to your friend.
Mel - Your post made me smile, haha. Even it that wasn't intentional. And oof (pronounced "oof"), poor you. I think humans should eventually evolve so we don't have to breathe. Actually, I only half wish that.
This post has gone on for about an age, so I'll draw it to a nice close. Eventually. /insertevillaugh.
Okay, no, really. I will. If not, just like make me shut up next time. Post a comment on this if you think I should stop rambling earlier, cause I will :D I bet you're all starting to find a tie to hang yourself with cause this is so long.
English black humour. Yay.
Oh! It's my friend's birthday in a bit so I'm asking ideas for presents. So my challenge is, if you want to, what's the
And for the shoe challenge, those converses are one of the shoes I'd like to have. They're not expensive or anything, but I just really want patterned converses. Omg, or yellow ones. Because yellow is the colour of endorphines. I used to have these adorable little red shoes when I was like four. I loved them so much! They're like exactly the same as the pair on the book "Hannah's Gift," which is also an awesome but incredibly sad book. Go read it.
And also, I did this dyslexic test thing on Wednesday. It's not because I'm suspected to have dyslexia, but it's just one of those things school makes everyone do. I took so long on the test I think they'll think I'm dyslexic anyway. It's not because I didn't know the answer, it's because I kept forgetting the questions. Like there was this really annoying 1994-BBC-English audio to go with it, so you can't read the questions, you only hear them. And I kept forgetting what to do! They should really make a repeat button.
And also, my school's getting rid of swipe cards, yay! Instead they're using finger prints, like you'd "swipe" a finger, which is quite scary but also kind of exciting. At least for me because that's the strange little nerd I am.
And my last discovery today was that my friend was/in the film Love Actually, which is also a pretty good film. Just not as good as Juno. She's one of those little kid who the Prime Minister sees at the door when he's looking for Natalie.
And this is WAY to long. I'll make a short one next week. Hope you had and will have a good week!
Edit: Oh! And I really need your help. I have like ZILCH self confidence, I'm not joking. We did some physics revision thing and it had this confidence scale, underconfident to over. And I was like bang on the bottom. Alliteration, must be true. This isn't a challenge, but if you'd like to, suggest ways for me to be more confident. Cause I actually do stuff better when I say (and lie) I can do things. Like in Lacrosse, my friend literally told me to tell myself I could do it, and I did. And in trampolining, everyone said that as well. So yeah. If you're like feeling nice. And this is way to long, bye!

Oh man, if you cried in the movie, be prepared for major tears in the book. It's an amazing book. Seriously. <3
Also...your tests sound really confusing...eesh.
And also...I like your ramblings :D
On Self Confidence:
I wasn't confident in myself until...uhmm this summer I believe.
Before then I was awkward and sad and mopey.
Basically I read lots of books about people who were sometimes not happy or not pretty or not smart but still ended up doing amazing things, found lots of things and people to love and spend time with, and planned for the rest of my life
I don't know what it is about making big ridiculous plans [i.e. a huge roadtrip after highschool, moving to Paris after college, living in Morocco with beatniks and bohemians]
I guess I just focused on the positive aspects, and it made me realize the negatives weren't really worth the time or the stress.
Also I think you're awesome.
so...EGOBOOST
