Tiny Tim. Genius with a ukelele.
Anyway, not much has been going on lately. My week's generally been pretty good, I guess. I accidentally missed a rehearsal on Wednesday, but our director wasn't really upset with me or anything. I didn't even know I was supposed to be there that day, really. But I've been feeling kind of down and sluggish lately, and it's rather apparent, so she just said that it was no big and it was okay that I took a day to kind of rest up. Which isn't really what happened, but that works, I guess.
I've been trying all week to get a flu vaccine but I don't think the universe wants me to get one. I've gone to the fire department and CVS and Walgreens and they've all said that I have to be 18. CMS or whoever took my records from our primary care doctor without our knowing it, and the doc ran out anyway, so that was out. Also, I've gone down to the health department twice already and they had conveniently closed for flu shots about 10 prior to my arriving there both times. So I have to go back next Wednesday. It's so obnoxious. I'm the last person who needs to get the flu, especially now since I've got so much on my plate. But, enough of my rambling.
Uhh yeah. Not too much else has been happening other than my quest for the Holy Grail of a flu shot, so I guess I'll just go on to questions.
Weddings: Personally, I've only ever been to one wedding, in which I was flower girl. I think I was about 8 or something. Maybe younger. But it was cool. It was my aunt and uncle and they had it on the beach at nighttime. But that really the only experience I have with weddings. I don't believe I'd be a fan of church weddings, though. I know I don't want to get married in a church. I think outdoorsy would be more me. But yeah.
Selling books at John's events: Well, the one I went to was during the Paper Towns tour, and it was in a Barnes and Nobles, so yeah, they sold his books there. But the PT tour is over now and it's on to the Tour de Nerdfighting, so I'm not totally sure. I suppose they'd inevitably be there if the event was at a book store, but idk.
Favorite holiday and why??: It's a three-way tie. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I absolutely love Halloween. It's so much fun dressing up and getting to play around and have fun. I was a vampire this year (or vampiress? Not sure.) It was really cool though, I had the clip in fangs and everything. I didn't trick-or-treat this year, though. But I did go to a Halloween party at my friends house and played SNES and watched crazy gory horror sci-fi movies and eat spiral ham and bacon-wrapped scallops, because that's how you eat on H'ween at teh Holbrook residence lol. Thanksgiving is mostly for the food, honestly. None of our family besides my parents and sisters live here in Florida, so it's always just us, and sometimes I end up at at a friends house later. Either way, what ends up happening is that we always get enough food to feed half the city, so we end up having Thanksgiving twice a day for lunch and dinner for the next 2 weeks. Which is fine by me, because I'm thoroughly addicted to candied yams and marshmallows and canned cranberry sauce. Lastly but not least, Christmas. Usually what we do is go to Pittsburgh for the holidays for 2 weeks or so to visit my dad's side of the family, which is enormous. I seriously think they make up half the population of Pittsburgh. It's always so much fun going up there. Every day is a party, literally. We're a big party family. And of course there's the food which is reminicent of Thanksgiving, and it's always so nice being around so many people. Plus, my grandma is about a 5 minute drive from the Carnegie Museum. And I love the nature there, and the fact that it's cold, but not humid like Florida. Florida winter is always tough for me because of the humidity and it feels so much colder than it really is. Up north it's not humid and it's tolerable. Plus there's snow. Woowoo.
So, time to end my ranty blog.
Today I feel kind of bleh. Damn stomach aches.
And today is awesome because my dad took my sisters somewhere, so I have the house all to myself and I get to cuddle in bed with my kitty.
And, a question:
What does your ideal Thanksgiving meal consist of?
And what is your favorite holiday film?
I love this time of year.
